Studio #455 was home to Alex Brown for years. It was where he worked on his paintings and ran a thriving art career. Following his passing, Brown’s brother and parents set up a memorial foundation and residency in his honor. His studio became the place where artists from around the world had the opportunity to spend a few months in Des Moines working on their art.

The residency has allowed numerous artists from around the world to work on developing their own collections. To read more about Alex Brown, the foundation, and the many artists who have taken part in the residency click here.
