Printmaking

Cody Hickok is a printmaker and multi-media artist. He was born and raised in West Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Drake with a B.A. in Studio Art Drawing and minors in Printmaking and Writing. After graduating, Cody completed a one-year residency as Drake’s Artist in Residence at Mainframe Studios. They were featured as an Emerging Iowa Artist in the 2022 Des Moines Arts Festival, and have shown their work in the Iowa State Fair, and several local Des Moines businesses. After completing his Drake residency, Cody moved down the hall into his own studio space at Mainframe where he continues to make work. Cody draws inspiration for their work from grief, nature, and current events. He also enjoys working with pet owners to create custom pet portraits in various mediums.

I’m an artist, graphic designer and art director in Des Moines, IA with 28+ years of design, project management and art experience. I worked at Gallup as a Senior Design Consultant (17 year tenure) then at Ervin & Smith Advertising & PR as a Senior Art Director. I started my own design business in 2009 where I continue to collaborate with a diverse group of clients from around the world.
