Mainframe Studio's Julia Franklin Honored as a Cultural Leader Newcomer of the Year

Mainframe Studio's new Executive Director, Julia Franklin, has been named one of the recipients of the Business Publications Corp.’s second annual News Changemakers Award for Cultural Leader Newcomer of the Year. This prestigious recognition highlights Franklin's outstanding contributions during her first year with the organization.

The Cultural Leader Newcomer of the Year category honors individuals who have recently stepped into leadership roles within cultural or nonprofit organizations but have already made a significant impact on their community. Since stepping into her role in December 2023, Franklin has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a commitment to fostering a creative community here in Des Moines and across the Midwest. Her efforts have established her as a rising leader in the cultural scene.

The News Changemakers Awards celebrate six distinguished community leaders in four categories: Business Leader Legacy Award, Cultural Leader Legacy Award, Business Leader Newcomer of the Year, and Cultural Leader Newcomer of the Year. Franklin’s recognition speaks to her dedication to nurturing the creative economy and her ability to engage with and inspire the community.
